“After the exceptionally strong results we saw throughout fiscal 2022, our second quarter fiscal 2023 revenue reflected the boat industry’s return to more seasonal sales trends, coupled with the ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty, which grew more impactful as the quarter progressed,” stated Brett McGill, MarineMax’s Chief Executive Officer and President.
This result was primarily attributable to decreases in new and used boat revenue, resulting in 13% lower same-store sales compared with same-store sales increases of 7% in the second quarter of fiscal 2022 and 45% in the second quarter of fiscal 2021.
