PSpice for TI offers full-featured circuit simulation with a growing library of more than 5,700 TI analog integrated circuit (IC) models, making it easier than ever for engineers to evaluate components for new designs.

Key Points:
  • PSpice for TI offers full-featured circuit simulation with a growing library of more than 5,700 TI analog integrated circuit (IC) models, making it easier than ever for engineers to evaluate components for new designs.
  • Failure to reliably test a design could lead to a costly setback in the production timeline, making simulation software a critical tool in every engineer's design process.
  • "Tools that are intuitive and include system-level simulation capabilities can cut development time and speed time to market."
  • TI also provides open access to one of the industry's largest libraries of IC models, which are automatically synced into the tool.

The Si2 Compact Model Coalition has announced the approval and financial support of L-UTSOI, a new ultra-thin, silicon-on-insulator transistor simulation model developed by CEA-Leti, a France-based research institute for electronics and information technologies.

Key Points:
  • The Si2 Compact Model Coalition has announced the approval and financial support of L-UTSOI, a new ultra-thin, silicon-on-insulator transistor simulation model developed by CEA-Leti, a France-based research institute for electronics and information technologies.
  • L-UTSOI was selected for support by CMC , a coalition of 30 semiconductor companies that standardizes semiconductor models used in a class of circuit simulation tools called SPICE, or Simulation Program with Integration Circuit Emphasis.
  • CEA-Letis compact model boasts physically based model parameters, said Harrison Lee, chair of the L-UTSOI Working Group and principal engineer of the Foundry Design Enablement Team at Samsung Electronics.
  • We look forward to this same support from the CMC stakeholders implementing and using the L-UTSOI model.

CML Compiler allows photonic CML developers to develop high-quality photonic model libraries for use in Lumerical's photonic integrated circuit simulation environment, INTERCONNECT, and with popular Verilog-A simulators.

Key Points:
  • CML Compiler allows photonic CML developers to develop high-quality photonic model libraries for use in Lumerical's photonic integrated circuit simulation environment, INTERCONNECT, and with popular Verilog-A simulators.
  • A key step in the transition of photonics from research to commercial production is the delivery of photonic foundries' technology to their customers through photonic process design kits (PDKs).
  • Fully established in electronics, PDKs are a relatively new development in photonics so foundries and photonic design tool companies have been teaming up to develop and deliver them.
  • To date, the most challenging aspect of photonics PDKs has been delivering accurate compact model libraries for system simulation.
