He most recently served as CMO and EVP at data storage giant NetApp, where he launched an award-winning integrated digital marketing strategy that resulted in rapid growth of their Public Cloud business.

Previously, Whitemore held the title of CMO at SolidFire, an award-winning all-flash storage startup, where he established the company as a market leader and helped lead to its eventual acquisition by NetApp in 2016. In addition to serving in executive leadership positions at IBM Europe, Intrado, and SAVVIS Communications, Whitemore spent nearly a decade leading the marketing functions at Sun Microsystems Storage Products Group.
