“We are pleased to honor Caitlin as this year’s Extraordinary Healer®
Award winner,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH
Associates, Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group. “Caitlin goes far
beyond what is required of her and makes herself a part of the families
that she works with. She is the definition of an Extraordinary Healer®.”
Cohen is a nurse practitioner for children facing bone marrow
transplants at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s
Hospital, where she helps support the children and families she works
with. Cohen feels like she is part of the family and encourages them to
call her cellphone with any question or concern.
Cohen was recognized last evening at an awards gala in conjunction with
the Oncology Nursing Society’s (ONS) Annual Congress. Giuliana Rancic,
co-host of E! News, presented Cohen with the award at the event, where
the New York Times best-selling author and cancer survivor was
also keynote speaker.
