Saxbys debuts Maté Spritz, a cold-brewed energy drink collection

An idea under wraps since pre-pandemic; the 2022 school year was the perfect moment to celebrate 'New Year, New Energy' with Saxbys' launch of the Maté Spritz — a brand new category of energy drinks. Available in three flavors, the collection features a zippy spritz that is topped with energy tea.

Available in three flavors, the collection features a zippy spritz that is topped with energy tea. The bottom energy spritz layer was developed to deliver instantaneous energy, and the top energy tea layer delivers relaxing energy, thanks to the cold-brewed yerba maté.

Maté Spritz Details:

• Available in three flavors — OG Energy, Strawberry Rush, and Orange Cream
• Cold brewed yerba maté paired with a plant-powered (vegan) energy spritz, primarily sourced from organic green coffee beans and coffee fruit
• Steady source of caffeine with ~120 mg in a small, ~140 mg in a medium, and ~160 mg in a large

"We originally conceptualized the idea of a cold-brewed yerba maté energy drink in late 2019 with plans to launch in 2020, but the pandemic hit and the energy on the college campuses never fully came back in 2021," said Russ Wilkin, VP of Marketing & Product at Saxbys.
