Key Points:
- Toyota City, Japan, Feb 5, 2024 - (JCN Newswire) - Chiyoda Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation have agreed to jointly develop a large-scale electrolysis system and construct a strategic partnership and have signed a basic agreement on cooperation.
- The production and mass production technologies for electrolysis cell stacks using the fuel cell technology held by Toyota and the processing plant design technologies and large-scale plant construction technologies held by Chiyoda will be brought together to develop a large-scale electrolysis system that can be competitive.
- Specifically, the goal is to develop an electrolysis system with high hydrogen production efficiency while being the world's smallest in size.
- With the signing of this basic agreement on cooperation, the introduction of an electrolysis system in Hydrogen Park at the Toyota Honsha Plant will start in FY2025.

Natural gas NEDO selected the Joint Contractors in the public offeriing for "Development of Technologies for Realizing a Hydrogen Society/Regional Hydrogen Utilization Technology Development/Hydrogen Production and Utilization Potential Research" and the Study is scheduled to be conducted during FY2021 and FY2022.
Key Points:
- NEDO selected the Joint Contractors in the public offeriing for "Development of Technologies for Realizing a Hydrogen Society/Regional Hydrogen Utilization Technology Development/Hydrogen Production and Utilization Potential Research" and the Study is scheduled to be conducted during FY2021 and FY2022.
- In order to promote the utilization of hydrogen in Japan, it is essential not only to produce hydrogen domestically, but also to import large volumes of hydrogen from cost competitive areas.
- Building on the previous study of potential hydrogen demand in Chubu region by the Hydrogen Utilization Study Group ("Study Group") conducted in February 2021, this Study will focus on developing a large-scale hydrogen supply chain.
- The Study will also address the economic viability of the large-scale receving and distribution business and sort out financial, technical and regulatory challenges for commercialization assuming that hydrogen is imported in the Chubu region.
