The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority met on Monday, November 13 to conduct its annual Budget Workshop, approving Port Houston’s latest $745 million capital plan and $428 million operating budget, to guide staff in operating and managing facilities and activities for Fiscal Year 2024.

Port Commission Chairman Ric Campo announced during the October 24th meeting of the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority that Port Houston received nearly $36 million from the Texas Department of Transportation, almost 20% of the $200 million granted to Texas Ports.

The funds were awarded through the State Maritime Infrastructure Grant Program, the first in Texas history for port maritime and infrastructure development.
Chairman Campo and Port Houston Executive Director Roger Guenther highlighted the completion of Wharf 6 at the Bayport Container Terminal.
During this meeting, the Port Commission authorized more than $100 million in awards supporting the continued growth and development of the port.
