Implementation of the European Solidarity Corps programme 2021-2027: Committee vote

On 24 October, the Committee on Education and Culture (CULT) voted on the Implementation report on the European Solidarity Corps. The report aims to monitor the European Solidarity Corps programme 2021-2027 (Rapporteur: Ms Michaela Šojdrová, EPP group).

• CULT welcomes the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union

  On 7 September, Ione Belarra Urteaga (acting Minister for Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda), Pilar Alegría Continente (acting Minister of Education and Vocational Training), Joan Subirats Humet (acting Minister for Universities) and Miquel Iceta Llorens (acting Minister of Culture and Sport) will present the priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the area of Culture and Education in the CULT Committee.

• European Media Freedom Act and Audiovisual Media Services Directive

  The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) will vote on the draft report on the proposal for a Regulation establishing a common framework for media services in the internal market (“European Media Freedom Act”) and amending the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD, Directive 2010/13/EU) on 7 September (Rapporteur: Ms Sabine Verheyen, EPP Group).
• Following the vote in Committee, the report is foreseen to be adopted by the Plenary in October 2023 so that interinstitutional negotiations can start right after.
