Ørsted takes final investment decision on two German offshore wind farms

rsted's Board of Directors has taken final investment decision (FID) on the two German offshore wind farms Gode Wind 3 (242 MW) and Borkum Riffgrund 3 (900 MW) which are expected to be commissioned in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Today, rsted has signed an agreement with Glennmont Partners ('Glennmont'), who will be acquiring a 50 % ownership sharein rsted's 900 MW German offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 3.

  • Borkum Riffgrund 3 will have a total export capacity of 900 MW and will be located in the German North Sea close to rsted's existing offshore wind farms Borkum Riffgrund 1 and Borkum Riffgrund 2.
  • The power from Borkum Riffgrund 3 will be generated by 11 MW, 200 m offshore wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa.
