    Union for the Mediterranean , said:"No person, organisation or region can face the amplitude of the current challenges on their own.

  • The ARLEM plenary adopted two reports, both of them covering aspects highlighted in the proposed New Agenda.

  • The Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) welcomed the launch at the UfM Conference Women for the Mediterranean of the UfM Institutional Ministerial follow-up mechanism and its indicators, adopted this year by the UfM Member States, that will allow to monitor and measure for the coming years gender equality progress in the region.
  • In its report adopted in 2018 on women empowerment , ARLEM already acknowledged that the lack of comprehensive, reliable and regularly updated equality data, segregated by gender in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries made not possible to build up a comprehensive picture of women's condition across the Euro-Mediterranean Region.
  • ARLEM hopes that these indicators would help to provide policy and action-oriented recommendations.

    As already announced during the 11th Plenary of the ARLEM in Barcelona last 23rd of January, the Managing Authority of the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI) Cross-border Cooperation (CBC) Mediterranean Programme has launched a call for proposals for capitalisation projects to foster the transfer, exploitation and mainstreaming of knowledge and results developed under different Euro-Mediterranean initiatives.
  • 11 million euro will finance projects on this field.
  • The deadline to present the proposals ends on Tuesday, 28th of July 2020.
