    Operated by G&W railroads, Choice Terminals transfer bulk materials including agricultural products, aggregates, chemicals and lumber between railcars and trucks, providing customers who are not located directly on a railroad with the opportunity to reduce transportation costs by using rail rather than long-haul trucks.
  • Likewise, outbound bulk products can be transported to the terminal via truck for loading onto railcars to their final destinations.
  • GSWRs Choice Terminal is located on a 15-acre site with two tracks accommodating 19 total railcars and offers open-truck access.

The Heart of Georgia Railroad (HOG), a short line freight railroad operating across the state of Georgia on 219 miles of track leased from the Georgia Department of Transportation, thanks all those who supported the federal Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program grant awarded to Georgia DOT last week.

The communities and customers along the Georgia Southwestern Railroad (GSWR), a 270-mile short line freight railroad serving western Georgia and nearby Alabama, will benefit from a federal Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program grant awarded to the Georgia Department of Transportation last week.

  • The communities and customers along the Georgia Southwestern Railroad (GSWR), a 270-mile short line freight railroad serving western Georgia and nearby Alabama, will benefit from a federal Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program grant awarded to the Georgia Department of Transportation last week.
  • This grant allows Georgia Southwestern to continue upgrading main-line track between Lynn and Cuthbert and providing customers with safe, efficient and competitive rail-freight services, said Jim Irvin, president of the railroad.
