On 24 September, BUDG Members will debate the contingency measures on implementation and financing of the EU budget in 2020 in the event of a 'no-deal' Brexit, proposed by the Commission.
If this extension of the 2019 contingency Budget Regulation were to be adopted, the UK and UK beneficiaries would remain eligible to participate in programmes under the EU budget and to receive financing until the end of 2020,
provided the UK accepts and fulfils the conditions set out in the Regulation, pays its budget contributions for 2020 and allows the required audits and controls to take place.
Parliament needs to give its consent before Council can adopt these measures.
The vote in committee is scheduled to take place on 6-7 November 2019.The debate will also cover the Commission's proposals to make funding available from the European Solidarity Fund and the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to support businesses, workers and Member States most affected by a 'no deal' scenario.
