Presentation of CULT implementation reports

  • Presentation of CULT implementation reports
    On 19 September 2023 the Committee on Culture and Education will present draft implementation reports of the following programmes: Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027, Creative Europe Programme 2021-2027, European Solidarity Corps programme 2021-2027 and Citizens, Equality, Rights Values programme 2021-2027 (citizens' engagement and participation).
  • To support the work of the CULT committee on its implementation reports, the European Parliamentary Research Service has prepared a European implementation assessment (EIA).
  • The study (EIA) provides an initial evaluation of the implementation of the Erasmus +, Creative Europe, European Solidarity Corps, and Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Strand 3 funding programmes since their launch in late 2021.

    The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) will vote on the draft report on the proposal for a Regulation establishing a common framework for media services in the internal market (“European Media Freedom Act”) and amending the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD, Directive 2010/13/EU) on 7 September (Rapporteur: Ms Sabine Verheyen, EPP Group).
  • Following the vote in Committee, the report is foreseen to be adopted by the Plenary in October 2023 so that interinstitutional negotiations can start right after.

    On 10 June, the Committee on Culture and Education has been at the forefront of the European Youth Event (EYE) 2023 in Strasbourg, involving young people in the session called "Engaged4YOUth - MEPs want to hear from you".
  • The CULT Committee Chair, Sabine Verheyen, together with CULT Members Joao Albuquerque, Marcos Ros Sempere and Milan Zver, engaged in conversation with over 100 young people to discuss key priority issues: education, unpaid and underpaid traineeships, mental health, demographics and voting age, Erasmus+, volunteering, and how MEPs can continue to bridge the gap between young people and policy makers, in order to bring youth policy concerns closer to EU decision making.
