The Privacy Commissioner Reported on the Proposed Amendments tothe PDPO to Combat Doxxingat the 55th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities Forum
The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, attended the 55th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum held virtually from 16 to 18 June 2021.
- Major themes discussed at the APPA Forum included the following:
In the discussion session on legislative developments, the Privacy Commissioner updated APPA members on the Governments proposals to amend the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to curb doxxing activities.
- The Privacy Commissioner explained to APPA members the elements of the new doxxing offence, and her newcriminal investigation, prosecution and enforcement powers under the Governments proposals.
- The Privacy Commissioner, Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, attended the 55th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities Forum from 16 to 18 June 2021.
