• SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 9, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Caring Senior Service , a private-duty, non-medical home care services company, has named Brazoria County, Texas, Caring Senior Service employee Christina Divine as its 2023 Caregiver of the Year.
• Divine was nominated by her employers, Mike and Adie Walls, owners of Caring Senior Service of Brazoria County .
• "Christina consistently exceeds all expectations, and we're thrilled that she was chosen as Caring Senior Service's Caregiver of the Year," said Adie Walls.
• Divine has worked with Caring Senior Service since 1997 and has been employed at three Caring Senior Service locations during her career, including Caring Senior Service of Phoenix and Caring Senior Service of Kerrville, Texas, before coming to Brazoria County in 2015.

• The research team conducted sixty-eight dives during a twelve-day period to continue investigating and documenting the wreck of HMS Erebus.
• The Wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror National Historic Site is co-managed by Parks Canada and the Nattilik Heritage Society.
• "The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is pleased that the underwater archaeology team had a successful and safe season at the Wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror National Historic Site.
• This research will help Parks Canada understand climate change-related threats to the wrecks of the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, and what mitigation measures may be needed.

• The demonstration included takeoff, circuits, and approaches and ended with a landing back onto the carrier.
• "We knew our STOL capability would enable a UAS to safely take off and land on the Prince of Wales.
• Mojave is a short takeoff and landing UAS demonstrator originally developed to prove STOL operations at unprepared landing sites.
• Equipping UAS with STOL capability provides greater versatility and allows the aircraft to operate in areas previously deemed unsuitable for UAS operations, including landing onto and taking off from an aircraft carrier.

• It’s also the final film for its star, Michael Caine, as he has recently announced his retirement.
• In doing so, it marks itself as a British answer to Saving Private Ryan (1998).

Troubled homecomings

• From the troubled homecoming of Homer’s Odysseus to the spate of Hollywood films produced in the 1970s and 1980s focused on the angry and alienated Vietnam veteran such as The Deer Hunter (1978) and Apocalypse Now (1979), the traumatised ex-soldier has long been a figure of cultural interest.
• This has especially been the case in the British film industry over the last 30 years.
• Or, more recent productions focused on returning soldiers, such as Outlaw (2007), The Veteran (2011) and, of course, Harry Brown (2009).

D-Day on film

• In the modern era, however, the D-Day film of most renown is undoubtedly Stephen Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan (1998), which starred Tom Hanks and Matt Damon.
• Intended as a homage to the “greatest generation”, the film begins with an old soldier (the titular Private Ryan) searching the graves in the vast American military cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach in Normandy.
• This was the scene of some of the deadliest fighting on June 6 1944.
• Whether or not Parker’s film goes on to have the same cultural impact as Spielberg’s award-winning production remains to be seen.
