The technique provides users a method of submitting samples to LC/MS instruments for automated data acquisition and analysis without the need for prior scheduling. Since it allows researchers to quickly and easily obtain data, it is commonly employed in research laboratories, industrial settings, and academic institutions for a wide range of applications including during drug discovery and development, food and beverage analysis, as well as environmental samples analysis. LC/MS combines the separation capabilities of liquid chromatography with the sensitive detection and identification capabilities of mass spectrometry.
