New Yorkers Support Students and Honor Dr. King with Day of Community Service in East Harlem School
NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Yesterday, City Year New York completed its annual MLK Day of Service to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and promote public service. About 600 volunteers, including Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, gathered at Mosaic Preparatory Academy in East Harlem to spend the day making improvements to the school. Volunteers from City Year New York, Americorp, Mosaic Preparatory Academy, the local community and corporate partners painted nearly 40 colorful murals, constructed planters where students can grow flowers, and organized food and supply pantries for families in need.
