- The Committee has held inaugural evidence sessions with the previous three secretaries of state appointed during this Parliament for International Development.
- The IDC will question the new Secretary of State for International Development, Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, on his priorities for the role and for the Department, planning for Brexit and the implications of the conclusions of the 2019 spending round.
- Discussion may cover commitments to action on safeguarding of victims and survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse, combating climate change, the UN SDGs, promoting disability inclusivity and/or tackling violence against humanitarian workers, following recent IDC inquiries in these areas.
