Linda Apsey, President and CEO, ITC Holdings Corp. and Carla Walker-Miller, Founder and CEO, Walker-Miller Energy Services, join The Henry Ford Board of Trustees

DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Linda Apsey, President and CEO of ITC Holdings Corp. and Carla Walker-Miller, Founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services (WMES), have been elected to serve three-year terms as members of the Board of Trustees at The Henry Ford. Apsey and Walker-Miller join 23 other business and civic leaders from national and global organizations.

In her current role as President and CEO of ITC Holdings Corp. Linda Aspey is responsible for the strategic vision and overall business operations of ITC and its subsidiaries. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Unit Officer, leading all aspects of the financial and operational performance of the company. Prior to her time at ITC, Apsey held a variety of positions at Detroit Edison, including Manager, Regulatory Relations, where she was responsible for developing and managing regulatory and communications activities with the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Carla Walker-Miller started WMES, a 20-year old values driven company that changes lives through energy, in 2000 after an 18-year corporate career in technical sales. As one of the largest African-American and woman-owned energy waste reduction companies in the country, WMES helps electric and gas utilities achieve mandated energy reduction goals that reduce energy waste, create local jobs, decrease the energy burdens on families, and reduce harmful greenhouse gases. In addition to WMES, Walker-Miller founded the Water Access Volunteer Effort (WAVE) Fund in 2003, while serving as a Commissioner for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. The 501(c)3 non-profit has distributed more than $2 million dollars to help nearly 10,000 vulnerable Detroit families maintain access to safe water and sewer services.

In addition to their new roles as trustees at The Henry Ford, both Apsey and Walker-Miller are active within the Metro Detroit business community. Apsey is a member of the Business Roundtable and serves on the boards of The Detroit Economic Club, The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, Business Leaders for Michigan and the MSU Board College Alumni/Advisory Board. Walker Miller's board memberships include TechTown Governance Committee, the Mayor of Detroit's Workforce Development Board, the Hudson-Webber Foundation, the Erb Institute, the Michigan Advisory Council of Environmental Justice (MACEJ), the Michigan Energy Innovators Business Council, the Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), the Neighborhood Defender Service, the Water Access Volunteer Effort (WAVE) and several others.
