RedBall Acquisition Corp. Announces Pricing of $500 Million Initial Public Offering

NEW YORK, Aug. 12, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RedBall Acquisition Corp. (the “Company”) announced today the pricing of its initial public offering of 50,000,000 units, at a price of $10.00 per unit. The units will be listed on The New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) and will trade under the ticker symbol “RBAC.U” beginning on August 13, 2020. Each unit consists of one Class A ordinary share and one-third of one redeemable warrant, with each whole warrant exercisable to purchase one Class A ordinary share at a price of $11.50 per share. After the securities comprising the units begin separate trading, the Class A ordinary shares and the warrants are expected to be listed on the NYSE under the symbols “RBAC” and “RBAC WS,” respectively. The offering is expected to close on August 17, 2020.

RedBall Acquisition Corp. is a new blank check company incorporated as a Cayman Islands exempted company formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses. While the Company may pursue an acquisition opportunity in any industry or sector, it intends to focus on businesses in the sports, media and data analytics sectors, with a focus on professional sports franchises, which complement the management team’s expertise and will benefit from its strategic and hands-on operational leadership. The Company’s sponsor, RedBall SponsorCo LP, is an affiliate of RedBird Capital Partners.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is acting as the sole book-running manager for the offering. The Company has granted the underwriters a 45-day option to purchase up to an additional 7,500,000 units at the initial public offering price to cover over-allotments, if any.
