Ares is certified in use with several fingerprint scanners manufactured by Integrated Biometrics, a leader in mobile fingerprint readers.

Ares allows state and local law enforcement officers to run real-time Rapid Fingerprint Information Submission (RPIS) searches against county and state-level AFIS repositories as well as the FBI's Repository for Individuals of Special Concern (RISC), which includes wanted persons, sex offenders, and known or appropriately suspected terrorists. Ares is also certified to conduct mobile booking when used with four-print scanners. Ares can operate over mobile networks, allowing submission of fingerprint transactions and match responses to a phone or tablet anywhere an officer can connect to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network.
