H Code, the only advertising entity reaching the U.S. Hispanic market at scale digitally, announced its pro bono partnership with the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti to increase awareness of free COVID-19 testing among multicultural audiences in Los Angeles County.
“We were honored to work with Mayor Garcetti and his team to increase awareness of free COVID-19 testing and do our part to keep the Los Angeles community safe,” said Parker Morse, CEO & Founder of H Code. “Effective communication is critical at this time, and H Code is committed to leveraging its platform to provide vital information related to COVID-19 to audiences online when they need it most.”
Launched in June, the pro-bono awareness campaign ran Spanish- and English-language digital ads to multicultural audiences in the Los Angeles area over the course of two weeks throughout the H Code network, which reaches over 32 million users digitally each month and includes over 400 premium publisher properties with an extended network of 1200+ additional publishers.
“Los Angeles was the first big city to offer wide-scale, free COVID-19 testing to all residents –– an effort that has slowed the spread of the virus and saved lives,” said Mayor Eric Garcetti. “Our groundbreaking partnership with H Code builds on that work, keeping equity at the center of our response and ensuring every community can access these critical resources.”
Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, minority communities have been disproportionately affected by the virus. According to H Code’s recent Hispanic Healthcare Report, the majority of Hispanics believe that the current administration is not doing its best to offer healthcare to all Americans and that the government needs to improve the healthcare system. Through the partnership with the Office of Mayor Garcetti, H Code ensured that Los Angeles’ multicultural communities received pertinent information on where and how they could get tested.
Provided by the City of Los Angeles, in partnership with the County of Los Angeles and CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), free COVID-19 testing is available for all Los Angeles County residents, regardless of whether or not they may be experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Testing is available at 24 testing sites with a daily testing capacity of 16,000 and locations across the county, including a drive-thru location at Dodger Stadium, the largest testing site in California.
