Fairfax County and Northern Virginia companies dominate Virginia Chamber’s “Fantastic 50” list of fast-growing firms
Eighteen Fairfax County companies made the new Virginia Chamber of Commerce rankings of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Virginia.
Eighteen Fairfax County companies made the new Virginia Chamber of Commerce rankings of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Virginia. In addition, 18 firms from jurisdictions in the Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance are on the “Fantastic 50” list, meaning nearly three-quarters of the ranked businesses hail from Northern Virginia.
Five of the top 10 companies in this year’s list are based in Fairfax County, including top-ranked B3 Group, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business that specializes in health IT and management consulting. The 18 Fairfax County companies employ more than 2,800 people and account for 40 percent of all jobs in Virginia’s fastest-growing companies.
To be eligible for the Fantastic 50, a company must be privately held with headquarters in Virginia, showed revenues between $200,000 and $200 million, and demonstrated positive revenue growth and positive net income in its most recent fiscal year over the previous year. Companies were judged on four-year revenue history (2015-2018).
“Especially as we help businesses survive, recover and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to recognize and celebrate business success and congratulate business leaders who have been building firms positioned to weather difficult times,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). “I am also proud to recognize how many of the state’s fastest-growing firms are based in Fairfax County and Northern Virginia, another indication of the entrepreneurial spirit here and the importance of our regional business community to the economic success of the entire state.”
