SAN DIEGO, Aug. 07, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --ย Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) has selected Portfolium's assessment software to measure learning outcomes and drive student success throughout PLNU's College of Extended Learning programs.
Portfolium will provide College of Extended Learning students and faculty with tools for linking evidence-based assessment with Adult Degree Completion program outcomes. Innovative capabilities featured in the Student Success platform include customizable rubrics, curriculum mapping, and easy one-click reporting for curricular and co-curricular assessment, allowing for streamlined practices for PLNU staff and faculty.
As an additional benefit to PLNU, Portfolium's seamless integration with the school's learning management system (Canvas by Instructure) will allow for an unprecedented flow of learning artifacts into students' lifelong ePortfolios. This data will allow PLNU to perform course, program, and institution-wide learning outcome assessment for all Extended Learning students while ensuring that learners may showcase work samples and achievements to employers, throughout the entire student lifecycle and beyond as alumni.
"We chose Portfolium because it integrates seamlessly with Canvas, is more powerful than our previous program, and delivers value back to the student," says Dave Phillips, Dean, College Of Extended Learning at PLNU.
As members of the Student Success Network, employers will able to match student's evidence of skills directly to their desired job criteria, enabling them to increase diversity in the workplace and for students to see direct value of their degree and program.
"At Portfolium, we understand that in order to productively educate the growing population of non-traditional and adult learners, educational technology in higher education needs to consistently remain a step ahead," said Troy Markowitz, VP of Academic Partnerships at Portfolium, "This is why we are glad to partner with Pt.
