China Automotive Systems signs new contract with SAIC Maxus

WUHAN, China, Sept. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- China Automotive Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAAS) ("CAAS" or the "Company"), a leading power steering components and systems supplier in China, today announced it has entered into a new supply contract with SAIC Maxus, an SUV and commercial vehicle subsidiary of SAIC Motor (formerly Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation). 

SAIC is one of the largest auto makers in China with joint ventures with General Motors and Volkswagen. Pursuant to the agreement, CAAS will become a Type A supplier to SAIC's Maxus' SV63 model starting in 2019. The mass production of CAAS' steering systems for the SV63 model has started.
