NEW YORK, June 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Wanna show off to your friends at home and followers on Instagram--not to mention other social media?
New York is one of the most visited cities in the United States. Some of the Big Apple's most popular views can be seen right from the decks of the Liberty Cruise NYC.
Here are 10 Instagram-worthy shots you can take from New York Harbor.
1) The Battery
The Battery, also known as Battery Park, is on the southern tip of Manhattan and was the original immigrant entrance to America before Ellis Island was constructed. It includes Castle Clinton, a fort previously known as the West Battery that was originally built to prevent a British invasion back in 1812.
2) Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is an impressive structure and the longest suspension bridge in America at 4260 feet. It is named for the body of water it spans as well as for Giovanni da Verrazzano, an Italian explorer and the first European to sail into New York Harbor in 1524. The 693-foot towers can be seen from all five boroughs of the city.
3) One World Trade Center
One World Trade Center, a memorial to the thousands killed on September 11, 2001, is a magnificent structure that stands at 1776 feet, a deliberate salute to the year the Declaration of Independence was signed.
A must-have New York capture for any Instagram collection, it is currently both the tallest and the safest building in the Western Hemisphere.
4) The Chrysler Building
The 1000-foot Art Deco Chrysler Building masterpiece, located on the East side of Midtown Manhattan was the project of automobile magnate, Walter Chrysler and briefly the world's tallest building until the Empire State Building opened in 1931 at 1250 feet. One interesting and true fact is that Margaret Bourke-White, the Life magazine photographer famous for her skyscraper images, lived in an apartment on the 61st floor and was herself photographed on top of one of the gargoyles in 1934.
5) The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building, erected in only 13 months, has its own zip code and has been featured in many Hollywood films, including Sleepless in Seattle, The Amazing Spider-Man, ย and, of course, An Affair to Remember. One fact worth testing, however, is that the static electricity on the top floor causes couples to see sparks when they kiss.
6) Ellis Island
Located in upper New York Bay, Ellis Island was the gateway for an estimated 12 million immigrants searching for a better life in America. One gruesome piece of history is that back in the 1760's it was used to hang pirates. Even if you don't visit the island, no trip to New York City is complete without a photo of this historic landmark of hope and freedom.
7) South Street Seaport
Instagram live videos and photos as you pass the lower end of Manhattan's South Street Seaport open-air museum. Situated at Fulton Street, this neighborhood, with its rich history, was once one of the busiest ports in America.
When the Brooklyn Bridge opened in 1883, however, most of the business died out and the area became a ghost town. Today, after many years and attempts to restore it to its former glory, it is a revitalized buzzworthy neighborhood with a cool vibe, newly titled the Seaport District of New York City.
8) Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge opened on May 24, 1883, after 14 years of construction. During that time, over 20 of the workers died from accidents on the job, including the designer, John A. Roebling. The first person to cross the bridge was a woman, Emily Roebling, daughter-in-law of the designer and wife of the engineer, Washington Roebling.
9) Manhattan Skyline
From the neo-Gothic design of the Woolworth Building to Frank Gehry's first New York residential skyscraper, 9 Spruce Street (formerly called Beekman Tower) and more, there is no skyline more photographed in America than New York's Manhattan silhouette.
10) Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is one of the most Instagram-worthy photos you can capture from the Liberty Cruise NYC. A gift to New York from France, the original name of this statue is, "Liberty Enlightening the World." The sculptor, Frederic Bartholdi, used his very own mother, Charlotte as the model for this iconic symbol of American hope.
Speaking of social media, maybe you can put together some clever collage for Snapchat!
