FETC and Kennesaw State College of Education Partner to Create New Coaching Certification

PALM BEACH GARDENS Fla. and KENNESAW, Ga., August 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Future of Education Technology® Conference (FETC®) and the Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State University (KSU) have announced a partnership to provide technology champions, instructional technology coaches and others interested in expanding their professional knowledge of education technology with a new certification program, called the FETC® Coaching Collaborative Powered by iTeach. Through this unique professional development opportunity―which is free to all FETC attendees who have purchased a Basic Plus or Premium pass ―members of the education technology community will learn about the evolving role of the ed tech coach, new strategies to implement and effective ways to make an impact in schools and districts.

To earn the certificate, educators will begin by taking a series of four online courses―each of which allows participants to earn micro-credentials―developed by the Bagwell College's Department of Instructional Technology and iTeach program leading up to FETC 2020. Then, on site at FETC―taking place January 14-17, 2020 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Fla.―participants will complete the certification program requirements by attending six coaching workshops led by iTeach experts. The six Coaching Collaborative workshops are part of FETC's newly-created Future of Ed Tech Coach track, which will feature sessions that convey the latest insights and strategies on instructional technologies, personalized learning materials and pedagogical methods to mentor and train educators in schools and districts.
