Pickleball courts will be open from sunrise to sunset and do not require a permit to play. For those interested in learning about pickleball, Joyce Short has teamed up with the Roosevelt Island Senior Association (RISA) to provide RISA members with free beginners lessons and round robin play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 AM to 12 noon. The 9-10AM block will be for beginners, with balls and paddles provided. 11AM-12PM will be for intermediate and advanced players. The RISA program is intergenerational, designed for adults of all ages (don’t forget to where sneakers).
