It's well-known in the industry that over 95% of intrusion alarm activations are false and less than 20% of phone calls from alarm monitoring centers are answered by customers. The previous version of AlertMessage, launched in 2016 and the recipient of the TMA/SSI Monitoring Technology Marvel Award, aimed to address these challenges by enabling customers to cancel alarms without having to speak to a monitoring center specialist. The original version, which featured a text message containing a link to a web application, quickly became industry standard for alarm monitoring centers.

With the increasing power of chatbots, Affiliated saw the opportunity to enhance the AlertMessage customer experience. Now when an alarm is received by the monitoring center, all eligible emergency contacts will receive a text from AlertMessage which will intelligently engage them via an interactive chatbot allowing them to quickly direct the monitoring center. This set of enhancements also increases adoption by removing concerns some customers have about opening unfamiliar links in a text message. "

Portal+
