Many of the students from UMHS have followed a non-traditional path on their journey to becoming a doctor and have overcome significant obstacles on their way to becoming practicing physicians. This year's graduates faced additional hurdles since the Covid-19 pandemic erupted while many students were studying basic science on the UMHS campus on the island of St. Kitts. While the world went into isolation, the students continued their studies remotely, completed clinical rotations during multiple Covid surges, and persevered through challenging circumstances.
