ProLiteracy Releases New Issue of Adult Literacy Education Research Journal

ProLiteracy announces the release of Volume 4, Issue 3 of its peer-reviewed research journal, Adult Literacy Education: The International Journal of Literacy, Language, and Numeracy. Through the journal, ProLiteracy, the largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the United States, provides practitioners with information and evidence-based practices related to the needs of the field.

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Oct. 4, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ProLiteracy, the largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the United States, announces the release of Volume 4, Issue 3, of its research journal Adult Literacy Education: The International Journal of Literacy, Language, and Numeracy.

The goal of the journal is to provide practitioners with information and evidence-based practices related to the needs of the field. To that end, this issue includes four Report from the Field articles related to technology and digital literacy. Journal contributors write about the widespread and growing use of financial technology; a partnership with an affordable housing organization to build residents' digital literacy skills; a framework for teachers to integrate technology into their face-to-face lessons; and specific activities that can increase the increasingly essential digital abilities of adults.

In the research article "'It's a Different World': Language Ideologies, Literacies, and College Readiness," authors Meagan A. Hoff of Collin College and Jessica S. Reynolds of Texas A&M University – San Antonio, explore instructors' perceptions of how to best prepare linguistically diverse students for the literacy expectations of college courses.

ProLiteracy proudly produces this journal in partnership with Rutgers University. The journal editors—Alisa Belzer, Amy Rose, and Heather Brown—are respected researchers.
