Brighton Park Capital Announces Promotions

Brighton Park Capital (“Brighton Park”) today announced the promotions of Kevin Magan, Sam Kentor and Catherine Wallis to Partner; Monica Romano to Partner and Chief Financial Officer; Tim Drager to Principal; and Andrew Camel to Vice President, effective today.

Brighton Park is a growth equity investment firm that specializes in partnering with growth-stage software, healthcare and tech-enabled services businesses. Brighton Park’s personnel promotions follow a significant year of investment activity in disruptive growth-stage software, technology and healthcare companies. In 2021, Brighton Park successfully completed eight platform investments: Reltio, Impartner, XSOLIS, RStudio, SheerID, OPSWAT, NuORDER and Indegene.

Kevin Magan joined Brighton Park as a Principal in 2019. Mr. Magan has been involved with the firm’s investments in RocketReach, NuORDER and OPSWAT. Prior to joining Brighton Park, Mr. Magan was a Vice President at Great Hill Partners, a growth-stage private equity firm focused in the technology space. Mr. Magan began his career in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) group at Barclays. He received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Finance.

Sam Kentor joined Brighton Park as a Vice President in 2019. Mr. Kentor has been involved with the firm’s investments in AppViewX, Relatient, Paradox and RStudio. Prior to Brighton Park, Mr. Kentor was a Principal with Elsewhere Partners (“Elsewhere”), an early-stage growth investment firm that invests in enterprise software companies. Prior to Elsewhere, Mr. Kentor was a Senior Associate with JMI Equity (“JMI”). Mr. Kentor started his career at Bain & Company where he spent three years in the Chicago Office. He has a degree in Finance and Economics & Strategy from Washington University in St. Louis.

Catherine Wallis joined Brighton Park as Director of Operations in 2019 and became Deputy Chief Compliance Officer in 2020. Her primary responsibilities include business operations, information technology, human resources, compliance and marketing. Previously, Ms. Wallis worked at General Atlantic. Prior to General Atlantic, Ms. Wallis worked in New York in the advertising industry where she was responsible for managing agency / client relationships and overseeing advertising campaign development. Ms. Wallis holds a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University.

Monica Romano joined Brighton Park as Vice President of Finance in 2019 and leads the firm’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, valuation, tax, fund structuring and financial compliance. Prior to joining Brighton Park, Ms. Romano spent four years at Bessemer Venture Partners (“BVP”) as a Senior Partnership Accountant in the operations group. After earning her MBA and BBA in accounting from Iona College, Ms. Romano began her career at EY where she spent four years in the Wealth Asset Management practice focusing on private equity and hedge fund clients.

Tim Drager joined Brighton Park as a Senior Associate in 2019. Mr. Drager has been involved with the firm’s investments in Glassbox, Indegene, RStudio and Reltio. Prior to Brighton Park, Mr. Drager was an Associate at Berkshire Partners (“Berkshire”), a Boston-based private equity firm focusing on private equity investments in technology, communications, business services and consumer retail. He split his time between transaction due diligence and working with portfolio company management teams. Prior to Berkshire, Mr. Drager was a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in the Chicago office. Mr. Drager graduated from the University of Oxford in 2014 with an MSc in Financial Economics, and also holds an MA and BSoSc in Economics from the University of Ottawa.

Andrew Camel joined Brighton Park as an Associate in 2019. Mr. Camel has been involved with the firm’s investments in AppViewX, Glassbox, Paradox, OPSWAT and SheerID. Prior to joining Brighton Park, Mr. Camel was a member of the investment team at 8VC, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early stage B2B software and biotech companies. Prior to 8VC, Mr. Camel worked as an Analyst at General Atlantic. Mr. Camel studied Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis.
