UHSM (Unite Health Share Ministries) , a faith-based health care nonprofit founded on Christian beliefs and values, today welcomes the wider community to evaluate their options for Open Enrollment.
UHSM (Unite Health Share Ministries), a faith-based health care nonprofit founded on Christian beliefs and values, today welcomes the wider community to evaluate their options for Open Enrollment. Beginning Monday, November 1, 2021 Open Enrollment, acts as an opportunity where individuals and families can make changes to their existing health plans or sign up for new coverage ahead of the Saturday, January 15, 2022 deadline.
“It has never been more important to evaluate your options,” says UHSM President Christopher Jin. “Health care is not solely bound by traditional care, and it has become very apparent these last few trying years. This Open Enrollment season, we at UHSM encourage Americans to look into all options, understand personal or family needs and explore health care services that foster holistic, spiritual, mental, and physical health, like UHSM.”
With almost half of all Americans receiving their health coverage as a benefit through their job, it’s not surprising only 11.9% of Americans are aware of the Open Enrollment timeframe. While many people use traditional forms of insurance, there are more viable options, like health care sharing ministries. In recent years, many Americans have switched from traditional health insurance plans to health sharing ministries. In fact, there are now over 1.5 million members in these alternative programs across the U.S. who are taking advantage of healthcare cost savings, flexibility, and freedom.
“With a mission to unite a community of believers to help promote Christian standards in healthy living, UHSM continues to assist its members in sharing each other’s medical expenses and caring for their emotional, financial, and spiritual needs,” continued Chris. “As a member of a health sharing ministry, you’ll be a part of an organization that allows you to help your fellow neighbor in their time of need. Your voluntary contributions can help other families with medical expenses. In turn, you can benefit by knowing that you’ve done a good deed, which will help improve your overall health and wellness.”
