The news of the 440,000 sq. ft. Clayton, Ind. facility – the third LSL multi-client, controlled-temperature/cold storage facility in the Indianapolis area – comes on the heels of LSL’s announcement in late Sept. 2021 that the company has acquired a 132,000 sq. ft. facility in Raleigh-Durham’s Research Triangle Park (to open in early 2022) to respond to client demand in that market. Combined, these facilities will create between 100-200 new jobs.

The fast-growing company of more than 600 employees, which currently has 12 controlled-temperature (20-25 degrees Celsius) and cold chain (2-8 degrees Celsius) storage and distribution locations across nine states – from Dallas to New York to Seattle – aims to continue its coast-to-coast growth with the expansion in Indianapolis and entry into Raleigh-Durham, according to Beeny.

He points to the speed with which new FDA-approved pharmaceutical and medical devices are being brought to market, as well demand for storage and distribution services driven by COVID-19 and injectable drugs with “live” particulates requiring extreme freezes to preserve vaccine integrity, as the primary drivers of growth.

When combined with the existing 526,299 sq. ft. at the Brownsburg, Ind. facility and the 189,458 sq. ft. at the Whitestown, Ind. facility, the new, 440,000 sq. ft. Clayton facility brings LSL’s total combined Indianapolis footprint of mixed-use, FDA-regulated storage and distribution space to more than 1 million sq. ft. The remaining 3 million sq. ft. of space is spread across LSL’s other coast-to-coast facilities.
