The Principles were developed by an international group of institutional investors reflecting the increasing relevance of ESG issues to investment practices.

The PRI is recognized as the leading global network of asset owners, investment managers and service providers who are committed to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into their investment practices and ownership policies.
The Principles were developed by an international group of institutional investors reflecting the increasing relevance of ESG issues to investment practices. The process was convened by the United Nations Secretary-General.
