Socionext Receives 21st "Technology Award" from the Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine

YOKOHAMA, Japan, May 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Socionext Inc. has received a 21st "Technology Award" from the Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine for the development of its handheld ultrasonic imaging system, the viewphii-US. The "Technology Award" is given annually to individuals or groups who develop new technologies and contribute to advancements in the field of ultrasonic medicine. The award ceremony was held on May 22 at the 94th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine, in Kobe City, Japan.

The "viewphii-US" is a handheld ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system that features original LSIs developed by Socionext and integrate key functions to enable an innovative compact and lightweight form factor, supporting wireless operation with a battery life that lasts for three hours. The ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system technology and expertise are available for licensing to medical device manufacturers.
