The Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF) is proud to announce the awarding of 18 new research grants to scientists across the U.S. with bold new ideas for the treatment of arthritis and related autoimmune conditions.  Throughout the history of ANRF, the organization has focused on maintaining a strong financial base to allow for consistent funding of worthy research.  Despite the economic effects of the pandemic, the organization was able to fund significant research in both 2020 and now 2021. ANRF’s ability to fund this level of research following a year of widespread economic uncertainty is a testament to the community’s unwavering commitment to supporting promising medical research.

ANRF’s Scientific Advisory Board met in March of this year to review the grant submissions and select the most promising, meritorious research proposals. Ultimately, they selected 18 projects that could represent the future of diagnostics and treatments across the spectrum of autoimmune diseases. Ten grant recipients will be undertaking new research projects and eight second-year researchers will be extending their promising first-year work to the next level.

ANRF-funded research for 2021-2022 will focus on disease states that impact tens of millions of Americans.
