Older Black Men Voices: Are They Strong or Compromised?
In Portland, it is nothing to stroll through a vastly white neighborhood and see multiple Black Lives Matter yard signs.
PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --Β The news coming out of aggressively liberal Portland, Oregon over the last year has been dominated by Black Lives Matter protests. The images, predominately whites, are of people fighting on several fronts concerning civil and human rights. In Portland, it is nothing to stroll through a vastly white neighborhood and see multiple Black Lives Matter yard signs. But what are the Black people there doing? What are they saying? The world may want to know.
A show in Portland hosted by Black elderly men is now available online at https://www.resourcescholarsshow.com to give the world a chance to observe uncompromising, intelligent, and spirited points of view. The Resource Scholars Show may surprise some. Issues from whether African Americans should take the COVID vaccine to their interesting reaction to the recently slain rapper King Von's song, Crazy Story. Their take on Hip Hop's murderous Drill Music, some may think, should be required viewing for young artists. Co-host James Posey likened the result of the music to a virus that uses music to spread violence in our communities.
The show has many funny and interesting moments as you hear about one host hating marijuana due to a funny experience while another host (Reggae Bob) says it is good for you and makes concerts much better. Hearing real stories from someone who was in Vietnam when Dr. King and Muhammad Ali were fighting against it is priceless. On the topics of Black Music legend Marvin Gaye and Kwanzaa, real jewels are put forth during the show. The Resource Scholars Show will run on the historic KBMS Radio 1480AM on Sunday mornings. The Resource Scholars Show will also begin airing locally on The Numberz in January.
The primary way to view The Resource Scholars Show will be on the show's website https://www.resourcescholarsshow.com where viewers from around the world will be able to become Resource Scholars members and support the show.
The show is produced by Scholar Resource Academy West owned by multimedia activist and lawyer Opio Sokoni who lives in both Portland and Jacksonville, Florida. Each episode of the thirty-minute show is broken up into four segments (Business, Culture, Education, Entertainment) that are broached among various themes and topics. Business owners will be afforded the opportunity to sponsor show segments as the show hosts interview and educate the world about the business owner's brand, products, and personal story. Non-profit organizations will have a friendly platform to be used as a resource to serve communities and to raise money to carry on their missions.
Viewers will find more resources on the website as the show matures. Everything from e-books for a special price to Kwanzaa settings will be on the website https://www.resourcescholarsshow.com/shop. Not all shows will be for small children as some of the shows have explicit language due to the subject matter. However, each show provides uncompromising truth and elderly wisdom that is missing in many communities.
