In her new role, Morrell will work to reinforce SCAN's government and community relations, while working side-by-side with healthcare policymakers and trade associations to develop and advocate for legislation that positively impacts the livelihood, health and independence of the nation's seniors.

Previously, Morrell served as the executive vice president of federal and external affairs at America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), overseeing the company's advocacy, government affairs and public policy activities. Before that, she spent over a decade at Health Net, Inc. as the vice president for government relations. Earlier experience includes positions in the legislative offices of Senator Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Congressman Harris Fawell (Illinois).
Morrell will work towards building SCAN Health Plan's existing reach and reputation in Washington D.C., Sacramento and Long Beach, Calif.
