CASE Consultants International presents the Climate Adaptive Design Symposium - Where Building Science Meets Climate Science

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Oct. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Before the public health crisis changed our world, thirty years of science decisively showed there is a more profound and disruptive global crisis unfolding: climate change.

While policy makers debate what to do, climate scientists and the architects are planning for future sustainability. The 6th Annual Climate Adaptive Design Symposium – Where Building Science Meets Climate Science – will provide the latest insights into the building industry of the future. The event will be held online via a Zoom webcast on November 6th 10am-12pm EST from Asheville, North Carolina. Mike Nicklas, FAIA and President of Innovative Design, is the national authority on solar and sustainability. He served on the board of directors of the NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA), the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) from 1979 to 2005. His presentation will address the cost of addressing climate versus the cost of inaction; the current impact of Climate Change and the likely future impacts unless mitigation efforts are significantly increased now. Mr. Nicklas will present the latest estimated costs of different mitigation strategies as well as the financial and social benefits that can be derived from these specific solutions – solutions that can be made possible by sustainable design.

Also featured is climate science expert, Sarah Champion, Data Architect for the National Climate Assessment, and a leader within the US Global Climate Research Program. This program opens authentic available data and information for professional practitioners, policy makers, and businesses. Her presentation will address how to access and interpret climate data to inform practices and policies.
