myLifeLink Launches Free Addiction Recovery App

In recognition of National Recovery Month, myLifeLink, LLC today announced the official launch of its free mobile addiction recovery application. The digital recovery community provides people battling addiction with purpose, accountability, and a chance to connect, share, inspire and continue on the pathway of sobriety together. The app also connects both recovering addicts and their loved ones with the resources and support they need for a successful and lifelong recovery.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 19.7 million American adults (ages 12 and older) battled a substance use disorder in 2017. Unlike similar apps that rely on social media platforms, many of which can have a negative impact on mental health and overall stress levels, myLifeLink connects people in similar circumstances creating a support system that helps users share and learn new ways to cope and pass through emotional states that may trigger relapse.

Since the app had its limited released in June 2019, myLifeLink’s community has quickly grown and now spans 21 countries and 49 states. While users have the option to remain completely anonymous, they can share their interests and hobbies, occupations, medical conditions and family history, so they can better connect with others and define themselves beyond drug-of-choice and location. Users log their daily accountability actions such as daily intentions, evening reflections and healthy habits. They also check in about their emotional states that could trigger a relapse: anxiety, depression, resentment, anger, isolation. This empowers myLifeLink users to start a conversation or reach out to others in the community for help.

myLifeLink was founded by Matt Seefeld, a senior corporate executive with 20 years of experience in healthcare consulting and software development and a recovering addict. Seefeld has been sober since January 2018 after battling addiction for 15 years. He created myLifeLink to help those who are actively dealing with addiction connect with other newly recovering addicts and those who have been in recovery for several years and can offer advice on how to live a healthy and happy life without the burden of addiction.
